Gamut USA has launched a new P30 bashguard designed to protect 36t single ring set-ups. The design consists of a new polycarbonate blend and a never before used spoke/cavity structure that reduces the weight by 25% while providing greater protection. By employing a smarter approach to energy distribution when absorbing impacts, the new design channels energy away from the frame and more critical (not mention expensive) drive-train components. In early 2007, Gamut started working on prototypes to break the 200 gram mark for a complete guide/device system. At 222 grams, the new P30 is the lightest guide available which can take the rigors of a World Cup season. “Although the riders we survey demand weight reduction in so many areas of their bikes, we knew we needed to lower the weight without compromising protection. The new material enables us to create the lighter structure which distributes energy away from more critical and expensive drive-train components and in no way compromises the frame or ISCG tabs like direct mount options” states Juan Graziosi, co- founder of Gamut USA. Gamut’s approach to protecting drive-componentry is derived from rider feedback which surfaces 5 main elements; performance, durability, weight, ease of installation, and cost. These same principles were also followed in the design of Gamut’s new Race Rings which will be out later this year. “We had riders on our Race Rings all last season and now we are getting ready to release them to the market. They are lighter than anything else we are aware of and compliment the guides nicely” said Mike Poutre, co- founder of Gamut USA.
Gamut has also been working on their dual-ring chainguide, which will utilize the new bashguard design making it the lightest dual-ring on the market. Gamut would like to give special thanks to the riders who provided input and to our guys and gals that tested our prototypes all of last year. They help make Gamut’s products a reality.

THE NEW P30
Introducing the new Gamut P30 After a year of collecting rider feedback and testing prototypes, Gamut USA has developed its latest product, the P30. The P30 was designed specifically for the 36 tooth chain ring and provides yet another option to riders for their chain retention needs. In addition to offering riders with a more refined chain guide, Gamut has made a custom 1.5 gram bolt for the top guide. Gone is the 20 gram stainless steal bolt which means each rider will net a weight savings of 18.5 grams off the already lightest full system guide on the market. A hard anodized grey now protects the 60 61 grade aluminum boomer and a smaller size means less weight and more ground clearance. The P30 comes in all available mounting configurations, ISCG, ISCG 05 as well as bottom bracket mount. Ultra high strength poly-carbonate remains the material of choice for our high performing bashguards which are available in, Red, White, Black, and Blue. Ever ridden single track through the woods blindfolded? Ever wonder what it must be like to close your eyes and rely on a guide and your remaining senses to get you through a DH run? Meet Bobby McMullen, Redding, California's resident miracle man. Bobby is legally blind, a condition most riders couldn't fathom. Yet he hasn't let it stop him from racing MTB. We first met Bobby this year at local DH race when he approached us for sponsorship. Like anyone else who's heard his story, we were instantly fascinated. At 45, Bobby is letting nothing stop him from living life the way he wants. Not age, not diabetes, and certainly not being blind.Coming soon, Gamut will get the low down on one of MTB's most inspirational characters.

An idea turned reality, Ray's MTB will be soon be a major destination point for any rider looking to expand on their list of "must rides".
"I can't express how happy I am to be blessed with another sponsor. Gamut USA and Rays are a perfect match. This summer we will be designing something together for us all to enjoy at the park. I would like to thank Gamut and all the other financial help I have received from our industry. Without it, things would have developed a lot slower" shares Ray.
Ray's ambition to do something no one has ever done before is personified by how truly well planned and well built his MTB park is. A seasoned contractor, Ray and his team have spared no expense in making this a premier facility that maximizes the riding pleasure of any rider. He has also garnered major sponsorship and has shelled out some serious cash for pros competing in events held at Ray's.

RIDING THE
GAMUT IN MOUNTAIN BIKE ACTION
Gamut USA was inspired by information supplied by riders. As a result, this information was used to develop chain-retention solutions. When we asked the question "What does a rider need and want in a race guide?" we realized that when solving the basic need of chain retention, less is more. Let's face it - keeping a chain on a bike is not rocket science, and we don't think that it ever will be. We know that at the end of the day, riders want performance and durability without the burdens that come with overly complex components. We focused on these basic needs and came out with a line of chainguides that capitalizes on the collective thoughts provided by the riders who know best.
As we continue to grow in these early stages, we also maintain our humble outlook and only arm ourselves with the power of observation. We continue to test and tweak our guides in order to provide the mountain bike community with intuitive products that riders can take credit for.
